An IPTV player is an app that plays television delivered over the internet. It is the screen you watch on, not the service you watch. The channels, films and series come from an IPTV provider; the player connects to that provider and presents what it sends.
What a player does
- Connects to your provider using the details they gave you: an M3U playlist, an Xtream Codes login or a Stalker/Ministra portal.
- Organises what the provider sends into categories, a channel list, a film library and series with seasons.
- Shows the programme guide (EPG) so you know what is on now and next.
- Plays the streams, switches channels and remembers where you stopped a film.
What a player does not do
A player has no channels of its own. Install one with no provider connected and there is nothing to watch. That is the case for LAKSMED: LAKSMED is a media player. It does not provide, host, sell, or distribute IPTV channels, movies, series, or other media content.
Why use a separate player?
Providers focus on delivering streams; a good player focuses on the experience of watching them. A separate player lets you keep the same interface even if you change provider, hold more than one provider in one app, and use the same app across your phone and TV.
