About LAKSMED

What is LAKSMED?

LAKSMED is a media player for IPTV. You add the playlist or account your provider gave you, and LAKSMED organises it into live TV, films, series and a programme guide on Android, Google TV / Android TV and LG Smart TV (webOS).

Is LAKSMED an IPTV provider?

No. LAKSMED is player software only. It does not provide, host, sell or distribute IPTV channels, films, series or any other content.

Does LAKSMED provide channels?

No. LAKSMED comes with no channels, playlists or content of any kind. Everything you watch comes from the provider you connect.

Does LAKSMED host streams?

No. Streams travel from your provider to your device. They never pass through LAKSMED.

Do I need my own IPTV provider?

Yes. You need an authorised IPTV service, playlist or portal of your own. You are responsible for having the rights, permissions or subscriptions needed for the content you access.

Connections and features

Can I use M3U?

Yes. Add an M3U playlist address, and optionally an XMLTV guide address. See the M3U setup guide.

Can I use Xtream Codes?

Yes. Enter the server address, username and password from your provider. See the Xtream Codes guide.

Can I use Stalker/Ministra?

Yes, with portals that are compatible with Stalker/Ministra. Enter the portal address your provider gave you. See the Stalker / Ministra guide.

Does LAKSMED support EPG?

Yes, when your provider supplies one. Xtream Codes and Stalker/Ministra connections include their guide automatically; an M3U playlist needs an XMLTV guide address.

Does it support VOD?

Yes, through Xtream Codes and Stalker/Ministra. With M3U, only the films listed in the playlist itself appear.

Does it support series?

Yes, through Xtream Codes and Stalker/Ministra, with seasons and episodes. M3U playlists have no series structure, so series do not appear for M3U.

Does it support catch-up?

Not fully yet. Channels that your provider keeps available after broadcast are marked in the channel list, but playing past programmes is not available in the app yet.

What platforms does LAKSMED support?

Android, Google TV / Android TV and LG Smart TV (webOS) today. Samsung Smart TV (Tizen) is coming soon. See supported devices for the differences between them.

Trial, pricing and licences

How long is the trial?

2 days. It starts automatically the first time you open LAKSMED, with no card and no account.

How much does it cost?

$9 per year, or $20 once for a lifetime licence. These prices are for the LAKSMED player only, and never include IPTV channels or content.

What is the lifetime licence?

A one-time payment for the LAKSMED player, with updates for as long as the version you use is supported. It does not include any IPTV service.

Can I use one license on multiple devices?

A licence covers one active device. Each additional device needs its own licence.

What happens if I change my TV?

Your licence can be moved. Contact support with the ID shown on LAKSMED's licence screen and we will release the old device so the new one can be activated.

Installing

How do I download LAKSMED?

From the download page. Choose your platform and follow the button or instructions shown. Only official releases are offered there.

How do I install it?

Each platform has a short guide: Android, Google TV / Android TV and LG webOS.

Troubleshooting

Why isn't my playlist working?

Check the address for typing mistakes, make sure your provider account is active, and check the device has internet access. Some providers limit how many devices can connect at once, or only allow specific apps. If it still fails, the diagnostics screen in Settings shows what the provider answered. Your provider is the only one who can fix an account problem.

Why is EPG missing?

The guide comes from your provider. For M3U, add the XMLTV guide address from your provider. If a guide is supplied but a channel shows nothing, the provider has not matched that channel to guide data.
