Many providers offer the same service in two forms: an M3U playlist link and an Xtream Codes login. Both work in LAKSMED, but they carry different amounts of information.
| M3U playlist | Xtream Codes | |
|---|---|---|
| You enter | One playlist URL (and optionally a guide URL) | Server URL, username, password |
| Live TV | Yes | Yes |
| Films | Only those listed in the playlist | The provider's full library |
| Series with seasons | No | Yes |
| Programme guide | Needs a separate XMLTV address | Included |
Which should I use?
If your provider gives you both, Xtream Codes usually gives the fuller experience. An M3U link often contains the username and password inside it, so the information is the same; LAKSMED simply gets more structure through the Xtream login.
Use M3U when that's all you have, or when the playlist was put together by hand.
